Polyester is a well-regarded weather-resistant material making it a great option for Mexican hammocks. In thicker than standard cord it is the hammock material of choice for when you want to leave your hammock outdoors all summer.

Best for one to two people. The Mexican polyester thick cord hammock offers space and comfort best suited to one, but room to share with a friend or loved one.

All our hammocks are 100% handmade by expert artisan hammock weavers in Mayan villages throughout Yucatán, Mexico. Through hammock weaving, sustainable employment opportunities are created, whilst helping to keep alive the local Mayan community traditions.

Each hammock purchase helps contribute to growing 'Fundacion Cielo' a registered non-profit organisation working within these communities where there is often economic disparity and lack of employment opportunities to help drive social change, through alleviating poverty, improving health, education and gender equality.

Material

100% Polyester. Made from thick and durable polyester cord to create a more durable weather-resistant outdoor hammock.

Polyester is a well-regarded material often used in the marine industry offering greater durability for constant outdoor exposure. It will not rot, is resistant to mildew and is quicker drying than cotton cord.

We use a soft polyester cord that has a similar feel and comfort level to regular cotton hammocks.

Handwoven like all our hammocks the Mexican weave provides a soft supportive feel as it stretches and shapes to your body shape.

Colour Info

Polyester cord is naturally bright white. This brightness will tone down somewhat over time with outdoor exposure.
